Grading and Standards

The UK Road Safety Ltd Chauffeur Les Enfants course is split into several graded standards.

These are;

bulletFail
bulletBronze
bulletSilver
bulletGold
bulletGold Plus

Fail

No certificate will be issued to any person who fails to reach a Bronze standard.  UK Road Safety Ltd have set that minimum standard at a similar level to the Driving Standards Agency Learner Driving Test.

It is important to note that just because someone has passed the basic driving test it does not necessarily make them competent to drive after they have passed.  We have all experienced new drivers who have passed their driving test who after only a few weeks of driving by themselves fall well below the basic test standard and therefore at a higher risk on the road.  It is also important to note that a lot of child carers come into Britain from other countries around the world where the standard of driver testing may be well below that of the UK.  A fail would come as a result of either breaking the law or performing a driving manoeuvre that was either actually or potentially dangerous to another road user.

Bronze

A Bronze level pass shows that a candidate has demonstrated a competent drive and is able to drive to the standard that is required to pass the Driving Standards Agency basic driving test.  They will have made no serious or dangerous faults during the drive, but will have shown a fairly high number of minor faults.

Silver

A Silver level pass shows that a candidate has demonstrated a good standard of drive and is able to drive to a standard slightly exceeding the standard that is required to pass the Driving Standards Agency basic driving test.  They will have made no serious or dangerous faults during the drive, but will have shown a medium to high number of minor driving faults.

Gold

A Gold level pass shows that a candidate has demonstrated a high standard of drive and is able to drive to a standard well above the standard that is required to pass the Driving Standards Agency basic driving test.  They will have made no serious or dangerous faults during the drive, but will have shown a low to medium number of minor driving faults

Gold Plus

A Gold Plus level pass shows that a candidate has demonstrated an exceptionally high standard of drive and is able to drive to a standard approaching advanced driving level.  They will have made no serious or dangerous faults during the drive but may have shown a very low number of minor faults.  With a small amount of further training a client who has attained this very high standard could take an advanced test.
